About us:

When I was younger, I did not care about my diet. My priority was to fill my stomach without spending too much money. Basically, I was like most of the students at the time. Luckily, I could eat as much as I liked without putting on weight.

Then, a few years ago, I was told by my doctor to eat healthier, and to cut back on sugar (and some other things). Basically he told me that I was a TOFI person: Thin Outside, Fat Inside, and that this needs to change. 

Instead of eating a lot of junk food, I now started to make a lot of things my own. I cut back on processed food, had an eye on more natural products, and I cut back on added sugar (only then I realised that added sugar is everywhere). What I couldn’t find in stores anywhere was jams and marmalades with a lower sugar content.

And I asked myself: Do you actually need that much sugar to make jam and marmalade? I started playing around with recipes, bought some old fashioned mason jars and made my own version of jam, some even without any added sugar. 

Today, I do add a little bit of sugar, as that just tastes a lot better. But still, compared to products available in supermarkets, it’s a reduction of up to 80%. 

I used to work in the food industry for many years, so I know how large companies operate. And I just try to do things a little better.
